EngageFSU Overview

The purpose of EngageFSU is to introduce first-year, first-semester students to everything FSU has to offer from programming to campus resources.

Research shows that students who are engaged (and involved) on campus throughout their college career do better academically.

The skills and life lessons students take away from the program will help them find internships and job opportunities during their time at FSU and beyond.

There are up to 25 slots in the EngageFSU program.

Program Requirements

All members of the EngageFSU program are required to live in Gray Hall unless local or require an accommodation that cannot be met in Gray Hall.

Additionally, students must enroll in one of the EngageFSU 连接ions.

Attend 6 programs each semester of their first year that provide students with a diverse scope of University programming. Students will also attend 8 service projects each semester as well as monthly trainings. 工作人员 will help students identify programming but, 最终, students can choose which programs they attend so long as they fit within the perimeters of the program.

Example programs may include: a Civic Engagement program, an athletics event, a CES performance, a Student Life program, and a Diversity, 股本, and Inclusion program.

In the fall semester, students will also be required to attend the 领导 Retreat and/or the Social Justice Summit. In the spring semester, members will be required to join at least one recognized student organization.

Program Benefits

EngageFSU students who complete all program requirements will be eligible for a financial aid housing award for their Sophomore year ($250 per semester). These funds are only available to those who live on-campus their Sophomore year at FSU.

Additionally, as funds are available, members who earn a 2.750 GPA in their first semester, and complete fall requirements, will receive a textbook scholarship in their second semester. This is awarded through an FSU 基金会 grant so availability and amounts will vary.
